Cunt. Cunt. Cunt. I said it. Are you offended?

Get over it.

If you know absolutely anything about me, you learn I enjoy cursing from time to time. I have a lot of passion within me and I express it with large amounts of hand gestures, animated facial features and swear words. My mother outright hates it, the swearing I mean.

Fun fact for you: Studies have shown people who swear often have higher levels of integrity, are more honest and have higher IQ’s (I guess this makes me a bloody saint).

Australian culture has made quite the impression on me in the past few years. I can credit close friends for acquainting me with the “notorious” word. I think the word caught on for me because it is such a taboo and has a bit of a shock factor. You just don’t use it, ever, in Canada. The first time I was referred to as a “good cunt” (by an Aussie, of course), I was rather confused and shocked. I learned rather quickly the word is used in an endearing fashion. And, that is how I use it 99.9% of the time.

With the “polite” society, swearing is looked at in ill fashion. Just because I openly use explicit words, does not make me rude. I want to make that clear to “those” types of people. I choose my audience and when to appropriately use curse words. I’m a nice person. Like, really nice. I’m Canadian for fuck sakes! I also don’t get offended by much, making me a tad bias about swearing. Hence why I love the word, cunt. But, to each their own, right?

So, have y’all heard of Frank Zappa? This guy was a good cunt and a legend in the music industry. Basically, what this 70s icon said was; don’t get offended by words.

What I’m about to say is, get offended by the human cruelty, excessive greed, disheartening poverty, and societies impractical standards. THIS IS WHAT HUMANS SHOULD BE INSULTED BY.

Yes, words can be hurtful and powerful. I understand that. We MUST learn to detach from vex words. We can never allow negative phrases to control us. When they do control us, it does not leave room for a peaceful existence.

Really, can cunt be the worst thing to be called? Uneducated, incompetent, unambitious and unworthy are more hurtful in my opinion. If someone does utter ill-mannered words, it could sometimes be a wakeup call or a chance to rid a toxic person. l! l!

Ultimately, if you are called a cunt, just laugh that shit off. A cunt gave birth to you after all. Literally, the word means vagina.

So again, get over being offended by swearing. Try being offended by things that should matter and try making a difference in this world, big or small.
